Main Tournament Specific Rules

  • This is a Walleye boat tournament No boat size limit
  • PA waters of Lake Erie ONLY
  • Trolling, drifting, casting allowed. Fish must be caught legally with rod, reel, line and hook(s)- All PFBC rules apply.
  • 6(SIX) rods MAXIMUM regardless of number of anglers on boat.
  • No angler limit per boat.
  • Weigh 6 (SIX) Walleye only- coolers brought to weigh-in must only have your best six fish, NO LOOSE ICE or WATER
  • Culling is allowed- fish being released must be returned to water unharmed. Fish must be minimum of 15 inches. All fish submitted for weigh-in MUST BE MEASURED in inches. LENGTH RECORDED ON SHEET TO BE PROVIDED.
  • START TIME 7AM EST- based on GPS. Boats may depart in am at Captain’s discretion, NO LINES IN THE WATER TILL 7 AM. Planer boards may be deployed prior to 7AM
  • There is no formal stop time – Coolers MUST be in WEIGH-IN LINE by 4 PM at a location to be designated prior to the event or team will be disqualified.
  • This is an OPEN Communication tournament.
  • Teams should monitor VHF Channel 88 prior to official start time for Any needed updates.
  • Mandatory Captains meeting after Big Fish Friday weigh-in at 5 PM at Poor Richards Bait shop Fairview, Pa.
    • AT LEAST ONE TEAM MEMBER FROM EACH TEAM MUST ATTEND
  • WAIVER FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL TEAM MEMBERS AND RETURNED AT THE CAPTAINS MEETING.
    • Forms will not be accepted on tournament day.
  • DEPARTURE LAUNCH/MARINA must be listed.
  • Main tournament is $200.00 per boat. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED THE WEEK OF THE TOURNAMENTS- CASH ONLY.
  • 100% payout minus expenses.
  • Top 10 places will be paid,
    • Top 5 CASH (40%/25%/20%/10%/5%)
    • Places 6-10 receive tackle etc.
  • Boat checks will be done on the morning of the tournament. Format will be spelled out at the Captains meeting.
  • Scoring is by total weight only. Tie breaker will be based on biggest Fish by weight with second tie breaker biggest fish length.
  • Teams must display tournament flag as provided. Anyone caught Cheating will be immediately disqualified and banned from future Erie Walleye Bash events.
  • All points leaders must be willing to submit to a polygragh exam.
  • Any protest must be made within 15 minutes of last cooler weighed.
  • Protests must be made to the tournament director and accompanied by $100.00 which is refundable only if protest upheld.
  • All decisions of the Tournament Director ARE FINAL
  • ***NEW*** A Weather Committee will decide on cancellation/delay. ***NEW***
    • Cancellation will occur if a small craft advisory is in effect. If boats are released to fish it is up to the team’s captain to decide if conditions are safe for his/her vessel.
    • In case of cancellation the Tournament will be held on Sunday under the same rules. Participants should be prepared to fish Sunday in case of cancellation Saturday. No refunds will be given
    • In Case of cancellation of the entire main tournament a random drawing of entrees will determine top 10 winners. If Big fish Friday is cancelled as well a drawing of entrees will determine top 3 places
