Main Tournament Specific Rules

  • This is a Walleye boat tournament- No boat size limit

  • PA WATERS OF LAKE ERIE ONLY. MUST LAUNCH IN PA. No Exceptions.

  • Trolling, drifting, casting allowed. Fish must be caught legally with rod, reel, line and hook(s)- All PFBC rules apply.

  • June Tournament 6(six) rods MAXIMUM regardless of number of anglers on boat.

  • August Tournament 9(nine) rods MAXIMUM. (Remember the PA state rod limit is 3 per person on board) 
  • No angler limit per boat.

  • Weigh 6 (SIX) Walleye only- coolers brought to weigh-in must only have your best six fish, NO LOOSE ICE or WATER.

  • Culling is allowed- fish being released MUST be returned to water unharmed. Fish must be minimum of 15 inches. All fish submitted will be subject to METAL DETECTION. After weight is recorded, all fish bellies may be opened at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. ALL FISH FROM TOP 3

  • COOLERS WILL HAVE BELLIES OPENED TO EXCLUDE FOREIGN OBJECTS. All

  • Teams weighing fish MUST keep fish undisturbed in team cooler until weigh-in OF ALL the coolers is completed and final scoring has been determined.

  • START TIME 7AM EST- based on GPS. Boats may depart in am at Captain’s discretion, NO LINES IN THE WATER TILL 7 AM. Planer boards/probes may be deployed prior to 7AM

  • There is no formal stop time- Coolers MUST be in WEIGH-IN LINE by 4 PM at the following locations. 
    Weigh-in will Start at 2 PM.

  • Optional Big Fish Walleye Calcutta available at Captains Mtg.
    $20 EACH (CASH ONLY)

  • This is an OPEN Communication tournament.

  • Teams should monitor VHF Channel 88 prior to official start time for any needed updates. If needed, weather announcements at 5:30AM, 6AM & 6:30AM. Cell phone contact 814-881-1790 for questions.

  • Mandatory Captains meeting after Big Fish Friday 6/21 weigh-in at 5 PM At POOR RICHARD’S BAIT SHOP. AT LEAST ONE TEAM MEMBER FROM EACH TEAM MUST ATTEND CATAINS MEETING. WAIVER FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL TEAM MEMBERS AND RETURNED AT THE CAPTAINS MEETING. DEPARTURE LAUNCH/MARINA must be listed. WAIVER FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED on Tournament Day.

  • Main tournament is $200.00 per boat. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 6/15. CASH ONLY STARTING 6/16. 100% payout minus lie detector tests. Top 10 places will be paid, Top 5 CASH (40%/25%/20%/10%/5%). Places 6-10 receive tackle etc.

  • Boat checks may be done on the morning of the tournament. Format will be spelled out at the Captains meeting.

  • Scoring is by total weight only. Tie breaker will be based on biggest fish by weight with second tie breaker biggest fish length. EACH TEAM MUST WEIGH A BIG FISH REGARDLESS OF SIZE. MARK WITH PROVIDED ZIP TIE.

  • Teams must display tournament flag as provided. Anyone caught

  • Cheating will be immediately disqualified and banned from future Erie Walleye Bash events. Applicants previously disqualified from Any fishing tournament may not apply or participate.

  • All points leaders must be willing to submit to a polygragh exam.

  • Any protest must be made within 15 minutes of last cooler weighed.

  • Protests must be made to the Tournament Director and accompanied by $100.00 which is refundable only if protest upheld. All decisions of the Tournament Director ARE FINAL.

  • In case of BOAT Failure, COOLER AND ONE TEAM MEMBER can be transferred to Another TOURNAMENT BOAT if arrangements can be made between Team Captains. Notify Tournament Committee at 814-881-1790 if this occurs. ALL COOLERS MUST BE IN WEIGH-IN LINE BY 4PM, No EXCEPTIONS

  • A Weather Committee will decide on cancellation/delay. Cancellation will occur if waves are deemed to be consistently over 3 feet. Any Delay may be up to 3 Hours, before cancellation. Weather announcements at 5:30AM, 6AM &6:30 AM on VHF Channel 88. If boats are released to fish, it is up to the Team’s Captain to decide if conditions are safe for his/her vessel. In case of cancellation, the Tournament will be held on Sunday 6/23 under the same rules. Participants must be prepared to fish Sunday 6/23 in case of cancellation on Saturday. NO REFUNDS.

    In Case of cancellation of the ENTIRE main tournament (SAT & SUN) a random drawing of entrees will determine top 10 winners. If Big fish Friday is cancelled as well, a random drawing of BIG FISH entrees will determine top 3 places.
